We here at Destin Florida are all about having fun at the beach. At the same time, we want you all to understand the flag system put in place at our local beaches. Knowing these ahead of time will allow you to know what course of action to take depending on the flag.
Double Red Flag
Water is closed to the public.
Red Flag
High hazard: rough conditions such as strong currents and surf.
Yellow Flag
Medium hazard: light current and or surf.
Green Flag
Low hazard: calm conditions.
Purple Flag
Marine pests present: jellyfish, stingrays, and or any other dangerous fish.
